Dark executions in Europe remain modest

The new report by Tabb Group principal Miranda Mizen, Trading in the Dark in Europe: Choice and Complexity on the Cusp of Change, examines the state of play regarding 53 European head traders' attitudes toward dark pools and other alternative execution venues, finding that volumes diverted from lit and OTC markets have yet to reach anywhere near the levels they have in the US.

The consultancy estimates that just over four percent of European market volume is currently traded on unlit venues -
