BNP Paribas Appoints Head of CIB Latin America

BNP Paribas has appointed Florence Pourchet as head of CIB Latin America.

Pourchet will be responsible for driving BNP Paribas’ Latin America strategy, as well as provide oversight and support to the different countries in the region where the bank has a presence.

Pourchet has been with the bank since 1990, having held a variety of banking and credit roles across France, Germany and the US. She was previously the Head of CIB Hispanic Latam in 2019, in addition to head of credit and portfolio management and head of CSR for the Americas. Florence will retain her responsibilities as head of CSR for the Americas, advising Herve Duteil, BNP Paribas Americas Chief Sustainability Officer.

Pico Hires Frank Troise as Co-Chief Executive Officer

Pico has announced that Frank Troise will join Pico as co-chief executive officer alongside chairman and founder, Jarrod Yuster.

Troise will partner with Yuster to build on Pico’s foundation and accelerate the firm’s expansion.

Frank most recently served as the President and CEO of Investment Technology Group (previously ITG). Prior to joining ITG, Frank has worked at J.P. Morgan, Barclays Capital and at Lehman Brothers. Troise has been on the board of directors of Pico since September of 2019 and will continue in that capacity.

Ideal Prediction Announces Walter Bell as CTO

Ideal Prediction, independent trading analysis and data science company for capital markets, has appointed Walter Bell as its chief technology officer.

Walter has more than 20 years of experience in capital markets, working in a variety of roles across multiple asset classes.

Walter will lead innovation across Ideal’s product suite, which includes the recent redesign of Scope, an independent service for monitoring trading for market abuse and adherence to the FX Global Code. Walter is responsible for extending Scope’s product coverage to include cross-asset functionality for Market Abuse Regulation (MAR) surveillance and other regulatory regimes. He will also oversee the support of Ideal’s global systemically important bank (G-SIB) clients.

Walter joined Ideal Prediction from Bank of America Merrill Lynch where he led an international team as the global head of rates eTrading quants. Prior to this he has worked at Credit Suisse and Broadway Technology.

SS&C Hires Max Eklund As Regional Sales Manager

SS&C Advent has hired Max Eklund as regional sales manager for Sweden and Finland.

Based in Stockholm, he will be responsible for sales and commercial management in the region, targeting the investment management industry.

Eklund was most recently head of sales at cloud-based investment management solutions vendor Limina Financial Systems. Prior to this he has worked at Aggancio AB, Macrobond Financial and at Larsson & Partners Asset Management.

JonesTrading Names Andrew Volz Chief Operating Officer

JonesTrading has appointed Andrew Volz as chief operating officer to oversee the global operations of the firm, across all divisions. 

In this new role, Volz is responsible for the daily global operations of JonesTrading’s businesses and will work closely with the executive committee and board of directors on the firm’s strategy for continued growth.

Volz joined JonesTrading in 2016, and spearheaded the firm’s successful moves into Prime Services and Outsourced Trading.

Prior to joining JonesTrading he has worked at Wells Fargo Securities, Merlin Securities, Revel and Nirvana solutions.
