BT Acquires IP Trade to Boost Unified Trading Comms

Unified communications and collaboration solutions provider to be integrated into BT portfolio of cloud-based solutions.

M&A news
BT is expected to close the acquisition of IP Trade in Q1 2017.

The deal will further strengthen BT's cloud-based communications offering of voice trading and turret solutions, underpinned by its BT Radianz network. BT will integrate the IP Trade functionality to meet increasing client demand for regulatory compliance obligations, proactive surveillance solutions to prevent market abuse, and improved collaboration.

"Our customers will appreciate the way we will bring together BT's Cloud of Clouds portfolio strategy, products and expertise, managed services capability and global reach with IP Trade's open software platform and range of devices and applications," says Luis Alvarez, CEO of global services at BT. "We are fully committed to maintaining and supporting our existing customers through delivery of BT's own and IP Trade solutions against our product roadmap. This is all about giving customers the best possible choices and flexibility on a global scale."

The acquisition is expected to close sometime this quarter, subject to regulatory clearance. Financial details of the deal were not disclosed.
