As you can see, there were many familiar faces across the 32 categories this year, with BST Awards mainstays such as Eze Castle Integration, Nasdaq Smarts, Charles River Development, Vermillion Software and SimCorp among the winning entries once again.
It was also a good year for three firms─BISAM, Rimes Technologies and IHS Markit─which were recognized with an award for outstanding service to the industry, having established significant credentials over the past decade since the event's inception. They each won two other awards.
There were also new faces this year, which is always pleasing to see; Commcise made a big impression with the judges for its fully integrated cloud-based commission management platform, Commcise Buy—so much so that as well as scooping the best newcomer award, the London-based vendor also won the best overall product category.
We'll have full write-ups for each award category in the December issue of Waters and online within the next few weeks.
After I spent the morning filming our Winner's Circle interviews, the serious business of the day got under way: lunch. And the awards of course, this year welcoming guest rugby legends and commentators Ian Robertson and Jonathon Davies to congratulate the winners and share some of their thoughts on the upcoming international fixtures.
Anyway, congratulations to all the 2016 winners and a big thanks to my colleagues on the Incisive Media events team for a job well done.
ETAS 2016
The European Trading Architecture Summit is upon us as well, taking place at the Hilton London Canary Wharf next week, Thursday, November 17.
The line-up for this year's features some excellent panels, including the agendas driving technology adoption across the capital market, and deeper dives into the changing relationship between order and execution management systems, streamlining data management processes, and of course, blockchain.
It's also your chance to watch me moderate a panel for the first time at one of our events, on the topics of machine learning, artificial intelligence and automation. Enjoy.
