Conti comes from Kroll Inc., a provider or risk solutions where he served as CEO. He was also president of the North America and international divisions at Dun and Bradstreet.

Opus' previous CEO, Doug Bergeron, a co-founder of the firm and former CEO of mobile payment vendor VeriFone, will now serve as executive chairman of the firm.

The firm has grown its Software-as-a-Service (SaaS)-based compliance platform via acquisitions, purchasing Hiperos and Alacra in June 2014 and September 2015, respectively. Opus aims to offer a combination of reference data, third-party management software and know-your-customer (KYC) workflow solutions to its clients.

"I am proud to join a company whose mission is anchored in helping its clients solve important and complex compliance risks such as AML, KYC, ABAC (anti-bribery and anti-corruption) and third-party management," Conti said in a statement. "I look forward to continuing to drive innovation at the company and helping our clients address their ever-changing regulatory requirements."
