FISD Ups FIA Fee, Preps Advanced Program

FISD will stop subsidizing the cost of its initial FIA certification, and is consulting with the industry on the roadmap for the next phase of the initiative.

From Aug. 1, the cost to sit the qualification will rise by just over a quarter from $450 to $575. The cost to re-sit the exam will remain the same at $150. David Anderson, program director at FISD and principal of UK-based Atradia Consulting, says FISD—which, along with its parent the Software and Information Industry Association, is a non-profit organization—has been subsidizing the exam and the hike is needed to rebalance the books, adding that this is the first price rise since the program
