2015 Year in Review: Year of the Chief Data Officer?
As the need for data governance has grown, so has demand for chief data officer positions.
What the role of a CDO should entail was debated at many events this year. Deutsche Bank CDO JP Rangaswami’s keynote speech at Inside Market Data’s European Information Summit discussed the challenges of his role, explaining its evolution from being about just managing mass volumes of data to taking full ownership of the end-to-end data management (IMD, Sept. 21), adding that a CDO must be prepared to take ownership of where data comes from and who touches it once it enters the organization.
