Nasdaq Expands Equities Trading with Chi-X Canada Acquisition

Nasdaq today announced that it will acquire Chi-X Canada, an alternative trading system for Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX) and TSX Venture Securities, from Chi-X Global. Financing of the deal is undisclosed, and it is expected to close in the first quarter of 2016.

The deal marks Nasdaq's movement back toward daily equities trading in search of growth opportunites, and will expand its North American equities trading business beyond the US.
