OTC Markets Gives Historical Trade Data to WRDS
The OTC market operator will provide historical data free of charge for academic research.
The deal gives WRDS' academic subscribers access to historical closing quote, trade and reference data─including last bid/ask and size, which provide a gauge of market interest in illiquid securities, as well as open/close, high/low trade data, share volume, dollar volume and trade count─for 10,000 securities traded on OTC Markets' platforms. WRDS is part of the University of Pennsylvania's Wharton School.
