Sibos 2014: Forget Bitcoin; the Blockchain's the Thing
As one panel moderator, Promontory Financial's Adam Shapiro, put it, the Sibos 2014 agenda probably included more sanctioned discussions on Bitcoin than actual Bitcoin transactions that were completed in the past year. And more than one commenter throughout the week suggested the "hype cycle" surrounding these currencies is now something supporters of the new paradigm must fight, rather than ride, if major financial institutions are going to inch any closer to meaningful adoption.
