Hilgers Takes Over as Optiver Chief

Hilgers will relocate to Amsterdam, Netherlands in the summer, as part of his new appointment.

Hilgers took over the post on January 1, 2014, having been the company's CEO for Asia-Pacific up until then. Kaemingk will stay on as a director of Optiver and remain on the management board. Current head of IT for Optiver Asia-Pacific, Luke McElnea, has taken over as the regional CEO.

Hilgers has been with the firm, one of the largest electronic market makers in the world, since 2006, when he joined as head of market structure, eventually becoming the Asia-Pacific chief in 2010. Prior to Optiver, he was the commercial director for Fortis Clearing Asia-Pacific, and started his career in 1992 as a market maker at Amsterdam Options Trading.
