BATS Chi-X Europe, a pan-European equities market operator, has invited two senior staff onto its board of directors.

Adam Eades, head of regulatory and legal affairs, joins as executive director, while former chairman of the board at Chi-X Europe John Woodman is appointed non-executive director.

"Adam ably guided us through the legal and compliance transition following the Chi-X Europe acquisition and has been an invaluable addition to the team," says Mark Hemsley, executive chairman and chief executive officer of BATS Chi-X. "John, in addition to a distinguished career, is a respected industry leader bringing significant board experience to guiding the management of a pan-European trading platform, as we evaluate new business opportunities and navigate a changing regulatory landscape."
