S&P Capital IQ has completed its acquisition of UK-based over-the-counter credit data provider Credit Market Analysis from CME Group, as part of a larger deal that combined S&P Indices with CME Group's Dow Jones Indexes subsidiary to create a new joint index venture, dubbed S&P Dow Jones Indices (IMD, Nov. 5, 2011).

CMA becomes part of S&P Capital IQ's enterprise solutions business, which comprises the vendor's enterprise data sales and global valuations, and its data will be integrated with the data operations that support S&P Capital IQ's platforms.

"This acquisition significantly expands S&P Capital IQ's asset class coverage for data and pricing, and adds the technology to move into intraday quotes on derivative and other OTC securities," says Lou Eccleston, president of S&P Capital IQ and chairman of S&P Dow Jones Indices.
