In June, we heard a rumor that counterparty data vendor Avox was being bought by a company with a name starting with a “D.” In July, it was announced that the “D” stood for “Depository”—as in the Depository Trust & Clearing Corp. (DTCC).

The acquisition was big news for the reference data community. In fact, it was “great news,” according to one reference data manager.
