Are Tibco And Cisco Mulling An Internet-Oriented Alliance?

The buzz on the Street is that Tibco and Cisco are conducting talks to form a strategic partnership. Following a speech given by the chief executive officer of Cisco at a Tibco user conference in California this past May, the vendors' discussions are said to focus on incorporating Tibco technology with Cisco routers.

While officials from both companies decline to comment--other than saying that no such partnership yet exists--John Chambers, Cisco's chief, spoke at the Tibco conference in Palo
