Among many other victims of the purges at Dow Jones Markets, a number of big names have been let go. Dennis Warner, right-hand man in Dow Jones Markets' risk group to Henry Becher, who himself was relieved of his duties two weeks ago, has gone. So too has Stuart Peretz who was responsible for sales of the Dow Jones Platform in the Americas. More details of Dow Jones Markets' staff cuts are expected to emerge this week.
David Larr is joining Reuters as director of strategic marketing for equities, reporting to John Bunyan. Larr was previously senior vice president of product management and director of research for Bridge Information Systems. More recently, he worked for DSI International Management, a pension fund manager.
The Chicago Mercantile Exchange has filled the market data management slot vacated by Pamela Hamilton last summer. The Merc has named Mario D'Alberico senior vice president, responsible for market data at the exchange. D'Alberico was formerly vice president, business development, for Reuters America, based in Chicago. He left Reuters earlier this year to join Andersen Consulting.
Will Kennedy, vice president, sales and marketing at Algorithmics, has left the vendor for personal reasons. Before Algorithmics, Kennedy was marketing director for global transaction products at Reuters. He plans to stay in the financial services industry.
Internet Securities has promoted Michael W.G. Fix to the newly created position of chief operating officer. Previously managing director of European operations for the company, he will continue to report to Gary Mueller, president and CEO of Internet Securities.
It is with regret that we note the passing of William Clabby. Long a newswire man, and onetime executive vice president of Dow Jones Telerate, he worked for the vendor from 1953 until his retirement in 1996.
