Clearing the Air

WATERS PROFILE

Clearinghouse LCH.Clearnet has had a bumpy ride in recent years, in part as a result of the 2003 merger between the London Clearing House (LCH) and Paris-based Clearnet. The firm has also been at the center of the proposed acquisition of the London Stock Exchange (LSE) by rival exchanges Euronext and the Deutsche Börse, and the firm literally felt the impact of the terrorist attacks in London last July. Its office stands next to Aldgate tube station, which was closed after the attacks.
