Greifeld Begins His NASDAQ Reign

Robert Greifeld has begun his term as president and CEO of NASDAQ, replacing outgoing CEO and chairman Hardwick Simmons. A committee of NASDAQ directors has been searching for a successor for Simmons since he announced his planned departure in December. Simmons held both the CEO and chairman roles since September 2001.

Greifeld was previously executive vice president of SunGard Data Systems, where he oversaw all sell-side business and buy-side transaction routing
