I recently received a letter from my car insurance company, Axa, which has a loyalty scheme for its customers that offers special deals on leisure breaks.

"We are contacting you as an Axa customer to advise that there is a high risk that an unauthorised third party has had access to the details of the payment card you used to pay for your leisure break. Loyaltybuild who manage and operate the Axa Leisure Breaks programme advised that its system may have been compromised by a third party."
