XBRL, the XML protocol for financial reporting, is gaining momentum as more companies are developing or installing XBRL solutions.
In late January, TSX Group, which operates the Toronto Stock Exchange and TSXVenture Exchange, became the first publicly-listed stock exchange and the first entity in Canada to make its financial results available in XBRL. The exchange is using XBRL-enabled technology from PricwaterhourseCoopers to tag the financial data.
