Asian Exchanges Unlikely to Merge in Short-Term

The Asia-Pacific region could be immune from the current wave of exchange consolidation—at least for the time being, according to Mike Younger, director of diversified financial research at Citigroup, who spoke at the FISD portion of the AFI Summit.

While the craze of exchange M&A activity had died down in recent months, it was re-ignited with a vengeance last week by the shock merger announcement from the Chicago Mercantile Exchange and the Chicago Board of Trade.
