Nasdaq Blames Network Issues for Friday Options Data Outages

Following the days' outages and failing over its network switch, Nasdaq said its systems were operating normally.

The first set of outages in the morning and early afternoon each lasted about a minute or less, while an outage later in the afternoon lasted almost 12 minutes. The first incident, at 11:06am, lasted 17 seconds and affected the Nasdaq Options Market and PHLX. The second, at 11:07am, lasted 40 seconds and affected its ISE, GEMX (formerly ISE Gremini) and MRX (formerly ISE Mercury). The third outage at 1:31pm lasted 62 seconds. Nasdaq blamed a networking issue in its datacenter for the disruption
