Petronas Towers in Kuala Lumpur
Swift's new office is based in Kuala Lumpur, home to the Petronas Towers.

The new office is part of the company's growth strategy for the Asia-Pacific region, says CFO Francis Vanbever. Swift also has offices in Hong Kong, Singapore and Tokyo.

"We recognize the shift of the global economic center of gravity to the East," says Vanbever. "We have established this center to reflect our belief in continued growth in the Asia-Pacific region and to further strengthen our back-office operations to serve the global Swift community."

The new office is located in the Bangsar South district of the Malaysian capital city, and will offer IT development, qualification testing, support, business operations, accounting and finance analysis and transactional functions.

Michel Christophe, former group financial controller, has taken charge of daily operations and management of the new site.
