Max Bowie's weekly column from Aug. 4 last year, Colleagues, Consolidators, Where Are They Now? brought back many memories─of colleagues and consolidators, certainly. But also of dealers' desks cluttered with keyboards and weighted down by video monitors. Under those desks, hidden in various places, were controllers each connected to a data circuit. Controllers handled the dealers' requests to view─or contribute content to─a single consolidator's "page" of market data. Configurations supported
