New Constructs Revises Mutual Fund, ETF Rankings

To make it clearer for subscribers which funds represent attractive or risky investments, New Constructs imposed a stricter set of tiers on Friday, May 9, which chief executive David Trainer says makes it easier to identify the best and worst funds for any given sector or style.

Now, the top 10 percent of funds are automatically placed in a segment deemed “very attractive.” The next 20 percent are deemed “attractive,” with the middle 40 percent deemed “neutral,” and the next 20 percent and
