Markit Announces CDS Index Licensing to SEFs

As of October 2nd, the official first day of swaps trading under new Dodd-Frank rules, a quartet of facilities including Bloomberg, MarketAxess, Tera Exchange, and Tradeweb have been licensed to execute trades in the CDS indices, but all SEFs currently have the ability to do so for the same cost.

"Markit's CDX and iTraxx are among the most liquid in the CDS market, and we are pleased to be working with the SEF community to enable all market participants to trades our indices on the new trading
