New Aquis Exchange European Equities Platform to use Equinix’s Slough-based LD4 financial hub.

Aquis Exchange will have access to over 30 European markets, 80 exchanges and trading platforms, and to the Equinix Marketplace, which will allow Aquis Exchange and its members to connect directly to other market participants inside the Equinix financial ecosystem.

"We chose Equinix because we believe LD4 is the best connected financial hub in the UK," explains Alasdair Haynes, CEO of Aquis Exchange. "Equinix also has a great reputation for quality service and offered us a good value proposition."

According to Equinix, 25 percent of all European equity trades originate from its Slough campus, which is located just over 20 miles from the City of London.

Aquis Exchange is still awaiting approval from the UK's Financial Conduct Authority before it can open for business.
