As long as current economic conditions endure, market data departments will remain under pressure to control data costs and extract more value from negotiations with vendors, according to a panel of end-users at last week’s European Financial Information Summit in London.

“If you look at the backdrop, banks are under increasing pressure to respond to regulation and tough market conditions, so cost reduction and efficiency are going to be very important going forward,” said Juan Corchete-Canavan
