Spanish Bank Examines GPU-based Modeling

Banco de Sabadell, Spain’s fourth-largest banking group, is aiming to improve the performance of its Matlab technical modeling software from MathWorks by adopting the latest version of the platform, which supports parallel processing using graphical processing units (GPUs), according to bank officials.

"We are exploring GPU computing solutions to speed up certain calculations, which we believe can accelerate some of the functions we have," says Joan Puig, head of quantitative tools at Banco
