SIA CONCLUDES THIRD STEP OF Y2K TESTING
The Securities Industry Association (SIA) concluded its latest round of industry-wide Year 2000 testing this past weekend, simulating conditions for January 3, 2000. More than 400 securities firms have been taking part in the simulation, with preliminary reports of the 170,000 trades made thus far showing a "better than expected" crossover into the year 2000, says John Panchery, SIA vice president and Y2K project manager.
