Merrill Uses Gloss To Lay Groundwork For New Equities Platform In Europe

LONDON--Filling in a key part of its program to build a common equities platform across Europe, Merrill Lynch has just implemented the first phase of the Wilco Gloss back-office system.

There is a time frame of two years for the Gloss rollout to Merrill's cash equities business. Phase 1 of the Gloss implementation was delivered across all of Merrill's major European floors--London, Paris, Milan and Frankfurt. Merrill chose systems from Sun Microsystems for the underlying hardware, says a Merrill
