Smith Barney Shops For 800-Seat Trading Room In Advance Of Relocating New York Head Office

Smith Barney, Harris Upham & Co. has issued a request for proposal seeking a digital data distribution system in support of more than 800 users. The RFP comes in advance of the planned relocation of the firm's head office from 1345 Avenue of the Americas to new premises by the end of 1994.
The vendor-selection process was formally initiated only a few days after Smith Barney merged with Shearson Lehman Brothers Inc.'s retail brokerage division to form a new brokerage known as Smith Barney
