New Reporting System Hits The Nymex Floor

By mid-May of this year floor traders at the New York Mercantile Exchange will be looking to personal computers for their price and volume data. The Broker Information Retrieval System (BIRS), now in beta test, will add a new level of detail to price re-porting, streamline post-trade processing and replace the Quotron price reporting terminals used for over a decade.

Independently, the Commodity Exchange Center plans to overhaul its price reporting system by replacing or upgrading the Quotron
