's First Call has enhanced the content and functionality of its web portal First Call Web 6.1. Customers will now be able to access Thomson Financial Interactive's Tip Sheets free of charge. The tip sheets commingle a company's pricing and performance information, earnings estimates and recommendations and business overview onto a single report. Customers will also be able to access content from CCBN.com's Streetevents which offers Internet access to corporate conference calls, brokerage conferences and investor meetings for free.In other First Call news, the company has been selected by Dow Jones & Co.'s The Wall Street Journal to act as consultant and data provider for The Wall Street Journal Best on the Street Analysts Survey. The survey ranks the performance of securities analysts on stock picking and earnings forecasting. The Wall Street Journal will be using the First Call Real Time Earnings Estimates Database, which features current and previous analyst earnings estimates from 600 brokerage firms covering 18,000 companies.

will supply Deutsche Bank with business news and real-time financial data. Information provided by VWD includes data from German stock exchanges, mutual fund prices, real-time OTC information including warrants, bonds, equity dealings on a when-issued basis, money market and capital market information and information issued by the Bundesbank and the European Central Bank. As VWD partners with Bridge, it also supplies Bridge's international numerical data and business news from Dow Jones Newswires.Factset Research Systems
' earning results for the three months ended November 30 1999 show a substantial increase in revenue and net income. Revenues for Factset, a supplier of financial data to investors, rose 27.1 per cent to $30.3 million compared to $23,830 million for the same period the year before. Net income was up 27.9 per cent to $5.5 million compared to $4.32 million for the same period the year before.Data Transmission Network Corporation
(DTN) has announced the sale of KavourasRadar Operations to Radtec Engineering. According to DTN the sale will allow Kavouras to focus on its weather information services and the company estimates savings of around $1.5-$2.0 million annually.In addition, DTN has formed a new joint-venture company with Photon Research Associates entitled EarthScan Network. The new company, which is the fruit of a three-year relationship, will specialise in satellite imaging and Internet technology to assist with risk management in the agricultural industry.
CS First Boston
, the US securities arm of Credit Suisse Group plans to invest in Santa Monica-based bond broker Trading Edge. This will enable CS First Boston to become active in Trading Edge's Internet bond trading service. Customers using Trading Edge software for trading junk bonds are able to view prices and amount of trades although company names are withheld.Data Broadcasting
Corp. (DBC) has announced an alliance with on-line trading firm The Price Group. DBC will provide The Price Group's clients with their e-signal real-time data feed which delivers real-time financial data to individual traders and investors via the Internet.ABN Amro Bank
has joined a consortium of financial firms and brokerage houses, to take a 9.02 per cent stake in Tradepoint. The consortium led by Instinet, a Reuters company, feel there is a continuing need for the for-profit electronic exchange model within the European equities market.Dow Jones
is selling its subsidiary, IDD Enterprises, to Los Angeles-based Platinum Equity Holdings. IDD, which provides electronic financial databases, has been part of DJ since 1995, although IDD's print publications were sold in late 1997. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.Dow Jones has also agreed to sell Dow Jones Financial Publishing Corp to Wicks Business Information. The deal, whose terms were not disclosed, is expected to be tied up this month and, according to Dow Jones, is part of its program of divesting non-core assets.
