Dow Jones Pulls News Services From S&P Editorial Operation

THIS WEEK'S LEAD STORIES

Citing a "competitive situation," Dow Jones & Co. has yanked its news services from the Standard & Poor's Corp. editorial operation at 25 Broadway in lower Manhattan. Dow Jones officials won't elaborate, but the move apparently was in response to increasingly forceful efforts by the upstart McGraw-Hill News Service to penetrate the securities brokerage industry.
