Who Needs Whom? As Merrill Eyes EJV, Bloomberg Lands FBC

Merrill Lynch & Co. has two units talking to the EJV Partners L.P. about signing on as buy-side and sell-side customers of the EJV's fixed-income data and analytics service, according to sources close to the talks. Meanwhile, Bloomberg, in which Merrill has a 30 percent stake, has charted a course carrying it farther and farther from its investor and original source of fixed-income data.
