Vendor Strategies Reuters Editors Voice Dissent With RAM's Planned Decentralization Of News

"We the undersigned believe the planned reorganization of RAM's editorial operations poses a threat to the integrity of all Reuters services and to the long-term survival of RAM," states a letter signed by the majority of Reuters 180-strong news staff in New York.

The letter, addressed to Reuters America (RAM) president Brian Vaughan -- remained unsent as IMD went to press late last week, but sources at Reuters say the editors were planning to send the letter to Vaughan within the next few days.
