FTSE Readies Italian Indexes

FTSE will begin calculating the Italian blue-chip S&P MIB 40 index from March 30, which it will rename the FTSE MIB 40. To ensure a smooth transition for trading in all derivatives contracts that reference the index, FTSE will maintain the same methodology used to create the index as the current calculation agent, Standard & Poor's.

To accompany the MIB 40 benchmark, FTSE will also launch a new series of tradable indexes that segment Borsa Italiana-listed stocks according to market capitalization
