Capital markets derivatives trading in Asia is poised to see burgeoning growth this year as China introduces stock index futures for the first time in a move aimed at promoting the long-term stabilization of the nation's volatile equity market.
However, the new instruments, which will be followed by other derivatives, will require broker-dealers to upgrade their systems and invest in new technology. Industry observers are concerned that brokers' information technology infrastructures
