Data Exchange will serve as a portal for PE firms to disseminate data, for example as general partners (GPs) seek new fundraising opportunities, or report fund performance information to limited partners (LPs). Insight, meanwhile, will allow provide analytics to dig deeper into individual investment and portfolio-company level information like cashflow and payment schedules. Interfaces for both tools were built using the mainstay vendor's new HTML5 framework, which is featured in this month's Waters.

The upgrades come as SunGard continues its push to expand coverage across the private equity ecosystem, including institutional investors, family offices, and regulators seeking greater oversight of the space.

“Regardless of private equity firm type, access to timely and accurate information on a portfolio is critical to understanding exposures and risks, and measuring performance. Investran 7 supports crucial decision-making with integrated systems and timely information helping to deliver performance and growth for private equity firms," says Lauren Iaslovits, COO for Investran at SunGard.
