Waters Rankings 2022: Best corporate actions solution provider—SIX
Overview
SIX recognizes the data challenges facing financial services firms operating in today’s evolving environment and believes corporate actions are much more complex than standard splits, mergers and dividend payments appear to be. As financial markets continue to increase in volume and complexity, SIX is working to upgrade and improve its corporate actions data accordingly: It offers quality and accuracy, which allows for maximum automation of front- and back-office operations.
“Our corporate actions solution has always been supported by our commitment to innovation and providing our clients with industry-leading solutions. As financial markets continue to increase in complexity, we are constantly working to upgrade and improve our corporate actions data accordingly. That’s why we genuinely value our proven track record of winning this award for four consecutive years and put our best efforts to carry on and remain worthy of this recognition.”
The Solution
SIX supplies clients with data in standardized formats for straight-through processing (STP). The data is aggregated from all major financial markets and delivered to customers worldwide in customizable or industry-standard formats like ISO 15022 MT564, allowing them to tailor it to meet their specific needs. SIX’s solution is designed to make all processes more efficient for its clients, offering them transparent, accurate and real-time corporate actions data.
Secret Sauce
For over nine decades, SIX has provided financial data and services globally, although it believes that constant innovation is needed to ensure that it can meet its clients’ current and future needs. It therefore continuously improves the quality of the data it provides and how it provides it. SIX’s corporate actions data is quality-proofed by checks throughout the collection, processing and distribution chain, and is available when and how users need it.
Recent Milestones
With its 25-year corporate actions history supported by reference and pricing data, SIX now monitors over 34 million instruments and taps into more than 375 primary sources covering over 70 types of corporate actions to help firms innovate the way they run their analytics. As alternative datasets grow and ESG becomes a priority, SIX is working with partners and data scientists to support new investment trends with its corporate actions data at the center.
Future Objectives
SIX has more than 50 partners that rely on it for data delivery and streamlined distribution of aggregated corporate actions data into a wide variety of technology and banking software suites. The firm aims to provide new capabilities such as APIs and cloud, allowing clients to easily access and consume its data. It ultimately wants to help its clients embrace the future now and plan their next moves, while taking advantage of present opportunities available to them.
