Waters Rankings 2020: Best Distributed-Ledger Technology Provider—AlphaPoint

For the third consecutive year, AlphaPoint wins the best distributed-ledger technology provider category in the Waters Rankings for its digital asset trading platform. The company, which operates in the cryptocurrency and blockchain industries, has enabled over 150 clients in 35 countries to launch and operate digital asset markets and digitize assets.
In the past year, AlphaPoint unveiled the white-labeled Brokerage Exchange Software, a full-stack platform that allows broker-dealers to offer clients access to cryptocurrency and other digital assets. It also made enhancements to Liquidity Solutions—a re-marketer automated market-making and managed liquidity options product, and Wallet Solution, its enterprise digital asset wallet and custody software.
Patrick Shields, marketing lead at AlphaPoint, says all enhancements and additions to the firm’s products and platform are necessary to remain competitive, particularly in the nascent crypto landscape. He says it is “ultimately a responsibility to offer current and future clients financial technology that meets expectations as industry-leading.”
Additionally, the company is continuously adding integration partners to its ecosystem to provide advanced features to clients. “This commitment to remaining best-in-class ensures our global appeal as a top-tier option for fintech entrepreneurs pursuing the buy-vs.-build approach for powering an exchange,” he says.
The company aims to enable more financial institutions to offer their end-clients access to cryptocurrency and digital asset trading. “As new assets—like securities and non-bearer instruments like investment and utility tokens—emerge, we’ve adapted and developed software to offer clients the ability to trade these financial products,” Shields adds.
He says AlphaPoint has expanded its presence in Southeast Asia, and now powers a third of the total digital asset exchanges and half of the digital asset brokers regulated and certified by the Securities Exchange Commission of Thailand.
Clients operating digital asset exchanges using AlphaPoint’s software include Bitazza—a digital asset platform connecting exchanges and brokers in Thailand, Malaysia, Vietnam, the Philippines, Indonesia, and Singapore—and Banexcoin, a Latin American digital asset exchange.
