Optimark And NASD Finalize Deal, Launch Date Set For 3Q 1999

NEW YORK--With the millenium deadline creeping ever closer, Optimark Technologies and the National Association of Securities Dealers (NASD) solidified their agreement of last January to offer the Optimark trading system as a facility of Nasdaq by the third quarter of 1999. The agreement still depends upon the approval by the US Securities Exchange Commission. Testing of the Optimark system running on Nasdaq is expected to begin by March of 1999.
