Opentrade Technologies Shuts Down, Lays Off Twenty; UK Fallout Begins

LONDON--Opentrade Technologies, a developer and vendor of market data distribution systems, has gone into receivership, laying off around 20 people. This further shrinks the market data distribution systems platform market and rings the first ominous bell for the European IT market.

Joel Jervis, director of Cairnsford Technology Group, which owns Opentrade, says Opentrade's cessation of business must be seen against the background of deeply troubled trading conditions in the market data
