After more than two years of dabbling with digital data distribution systems, technology executives at PaineWebber Inc. have finally developed an aggressive plan to shift the firm's entire community of traders off its Reuters/Rich Inc. video switch. The effort -- which PaineWebber expects to have well under way before the end of the year -- calls for the firmwide extension of an FD Consulting Inc. digital data distribution system that the firm has used in a limited way for about a year.
