Bloomberg & Icap To Challenge Instinet Via Electronic System For Fixed Income
TRANSACTION SYSTEMS
LONDON--Bloomberg and London-based brokers Intercapital (Icap) have teamed up to create an electronic broking system that could rival Reuters Instinet and its push into the fixed-income market.
In taking this action, the new partners are also admitting that traditional voice broking is being squeezed out by electronic platforms (see following story about Liberty Brokerage).
The agreement initially allows Icap to deliver its quotes on US Treasury bonds and European government bonds interactively
