EDS Japan Takes 600 Yamaichi Staff To Boost Its A/P Outsourcing Business

TOKYO--Electronic Data Systems (EDS) Japan gave its financial systems integration and outsourcing business a boost last week when EDS's wholly owned Japanese subsidiary announced that it would hire 600 employees from Yamaichi Information Systems, the computer services unit of failed Yamaichi Securities.

The move will help EDS Japan in its efforts to become a contender of Hitachi, IBM Japan, NTT Data, Nippon Steel and the Nomura Research Institute. This step increases EDS's
