NT Clusters Replace Novell LAN At Liberty Eurasia For 290 Positions
NETWORKS & INFRASTRUCTURE
LONDON--Liberty Eurasia, a subsidiary of Liberty Brokerage Investment, has migrated 290 positions on its London trading floor from a legacy Novell local area network (LAN) to Microsoft Windows NT using clustering.
IT systems consultants Keltec Progress were brought in by Liberty Eurasia to install the Compaq network servers in a cluster configuration. The initial cost of a clustered network is offset by lower maintenance costs and the avoidance of downtime, say the brokers.
