Dow Jones Sues Cantor and MDC: The $12 Million Check Is Not in the Mail

New York--Dow Jones & Co. is suing Cantor Fitzgerald and Market Data Corp. (MDC). The lawsuit, filed in the New York State Supreme Court, claims that Dow Jones does not owe about $240 million to the two companies because Telerate is no longer in business as the exclusive provider of Cantor and MDC data.
Dow Jones did not make a quarterly payment that was expected last week. Sources familiar with the situation say that payment would have totaled approximately $12 million. "We don’t have a payment
