BlackRock's Proposed Bond-Trading Platform Raises Questions

Investment management giant BlackRock plans to launch a bond-trading platform that will allow money managers to trade directly with one another, according to a report in the Wall Street Journal.

The platform, tentatively dubbed the Aladdin Trading Network after the firm's Aladdin investment-management system, will be based in New York and run by BlackRock Solutions, which provides risk management and trade processing tools.
